The
Wine Wall House is a small addition to a 1920s bungalow in an historic
district of Columbus. The client's affection for vintage wines led
to the fabrication of a custom cabinet wall that hinges the kitchen
dining and living spaces together while keeping them loosely separated.
The client's dislike for consumer culture and general indecision
over whether to include television in the new living space led us
to developing a custom automated built- in over a gas fireplace
that disguises the electronics of the home when not in use. These
small interventions inspired us in the future development of our
award winning project, The Gradient House.
